Today
we celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem. Unlike the kings of
this world who make a show of their might and power, the King of kings humbly
enters in a donkey to bring peace to the hearts of all men. He comes to serve
and not to be served. He does not come to take vengeance on his enemies but to
take upon himself their guilt and atone for their sins. Kings of the earth
sacrifice their flocks at the altar of their self-interest but our Lord Jesus
has offered himself for us all his subjects to make peace between us and the
father. As we contemplate him as king, we are called to imitate him.
Jesus
meek and humble of heart; make my heart like yours.
