Moses
stood in the gap to plead God’s mercy for a people who had broken faith and had
become fetish and rebellious. Even the
promise of making him a great nation did not persuade Moses to abandon his
people to their fate. Moses loved the people he led even when they went astray.
Moses is a great example of a true shepherd, a merciful guide. He is full of
tenderness and of a meek spirit. We are called to emulate his meekness and
generosity of heart. Rather than pray for vengeance for those who have hurt us,
Moses teaches us to be forgiving and to always seek for the good of others even
those who don’t deserve it.
Jesus
Meek and humble of heart make my heart like yours.
