Fr. Michael Osatofoh Eninlejie, MSP - Homily for Thursday Week 15 Ordinary time - July 16, 2020

THURSDAY 15TH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR II
ISAIAH 26:7-9,12,16-19, MATTHEW 11:28-30

SHARING OUR PROBLEMS WITH GOD

Many of us human beings do not like stress, we do not like whatever will drain our time and energy. This is why we look for an easy way to everything. In our world of today, there are many things that can easily make us tired as Christians. Many of us are already tired of trying to meet up with various demands of our faith. Some are already overwhelmed with the various troubles of life because of experiences everyday.
In the gospel reading of today, Jesus is offering us a helping hand, a lifeline that can rekindle our hope. Many people hardly remember to seek God when in trouble, they try to solve the problems themselves. Jesus invites us today to come to him if we have been over laboured or overburdened, and he will give us peace  and rest.
The first reading of today gives us the condition to attaining the rest and peace of mind in the midst of chaos; we need to first of all be righteous and trust in God. Let us try and attain this because Jesus alone has the answer. A problem shared with God by a righteous person is half solved. God help us. Amen
