SHOW APPRECIATION

Human beings seem to have a very short memory when it comes to remembering the good things we have received from God. In his seven-chapter book, the prophet Micah admonished the people of Israel to repent from their sins if they want God's promises for them to come to pass. God chose the people of Israel and made them a great nation. He took them to Egypt and brought them out amidst difficult situation under Pharaoh. He led them through the wilderness and brought them to the promised land. He protected them from other powerful nations, but they did not reciprocate the love by being faithful. God therefore accused them through the prophet Micah today by asking what he has done to deserve their unfaithfulness. This question is also asked as to why the scribes  and pharisees would kill Jesus after all the good things he had done.
In the gospel reading, we also see the same ungrateful character in the scribes and pharisees. Jesus has been among them, working various miracles, curing their diseases and healing the sick. They were never satisfied, they even forgot what he had done and were asking for more signs and wonders.
In our Christian journey, many of us Christians behave as if God has never done any good thing for us. It doesn't show in our behaviour that we are conscious of what God has done for us. When we are thankful for what we have received and we behave accordingly, we open doors for more blessings. God works miracles and acts at the right time, not necessarily when we want him to. God help us. Amen
